Paper Mache Class at Union Museum
Papier mache class set for March 1
The public is invited to learn the ancient art of papier mache-making in the next Folkcraft class in the Union Museum of History and Art on Saturday, March 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Artist Lindsay Carraway will teach students the step-by-step process of planning the art piece---a Mardi Gras mask---building the basic form, gluing layers of paper, and finishing by painting and embellishing. Participants will complete their own masks which they can take home. The fee of $25 includes all materials. To register for the class, call the museum at 318-982-8020. Class size will be limited. The museum is located at 211 N. Main Street, Farmerville.
Carraway is a practicing artist whose works are displayed in regional museums and galleries. "As an artist, for me, the most rewarding thing is to know that I have a voice through the lens of art," she said in a recent interview with Canvas Rebel.Date and Time
